Update. The classes revealed are now Nano and Glaives the latest class Jack. The latter revealed today to be class with the most variety, relying on wit, charm and skill. Last week they announced Glaives as the elite warriors of the game. While the Nano class is all about magic and ranged combat. Make sure you bookmark this page to come back for the final class.
The game looks great and follows a very classic look RPG design but is coming to consoles next year too. Check out some details on the classes below, along with some more details, trailers and images on the game itself.
About Tides of Numenera Classes
Jack offers quick wit, cunning play and charm, but is not limited to one skill or tactic, essentially making him the Jack of all trades. Players who want to explore and truly interact with their surrounding and the characters inhabiting the world need look no further. The Jack has the widest variety of skills to develop and can call upon a range of tricks to avoid direct combat.
Glaives are the elite warriors of the Ninth World – brandishing a diverse range of weaponry and offering a balance between might and speed. They are also the only class who can attack twice in one turn. Glaives engage in direct combat and enjoy a high defence rating. If you’re looking to develop a warrior with slow and powerful attacks, capable of absorbing lots of damage, or one who relies more on speed and agility then the Glaive should be your character of choice.
Nanos are the sorcerers of the game, blessed with the ability to alter reality to gain an advantage over other character classes. Unlike the use of magic, however, Nanos have an innate ability to tap into ancient, advanced technology (known as Numenera) left by previous civilizations. As their defensive abilities are limited Nanos should be used as ranged characters where they can read the minds of their enemies, unleash a combination of ranged attacks and warp themselves (plus fellow party members) around the battlefield to gain a strategic edge.
