There is nothing like an early Christmas present and for gamers, it’s best when that present is a cool video game! Well we are in luck because the really cool looking indie game Astroneer by System Era. The developers have today confirmed the Astroneer release date as December 16 in Early Access for PC and Game Preview on Xbox One.

The game sees you explore procedurally generated space (sound familiar?!) with a “Gold Rush” style gameplay. You explore the terrain of the planets to get richer in this 25th century future. It’s also playable with friends either on local or online multiplayer which could certainly be a lot of fun.

What is most interesting is the way you can manipulate the terrain with a “Play-Doh” like structure you can mold how you want to. For more on the game see the video below along with some official information and screens.
