5. FPS Action in “Abatron”
— Abatron (@AbatronGame) February 27, 2016
I like FPS, while awful at them, and I also like some action so to see a quality glipse at Albatron was always going in the list this week. The game also sounds pretty cool, with the promise of a RTS and FPS genre hybrid. Will this mean I get shot less? Probably not but I want to have a go. Check out some detail on the game below.
About the game: The Abatron team believes that players shouldn’t be labeled by their genres. By creating Abatron, a game everybody can play, our small indie team aims to unify the gamer world. Our goal is to deliver a high quality gaming experience to a diverse player base by ensuring that Abatron is simple to learn, but difficult to master.
Abatron is the next evolution of hybrid game-play. It’s controlled combat in a galactic setting. Experience space warfare like never before! Create armies, then switch to FPS mode and play any unit at anytime. Switch between both modes or don’t switch at all, Abatron is a true hybrid between FPS and RTS.
4. Andrew teases more “Slain!”
— Andrew Gilmour (@MrAwolf) February 27, 2016
Andrew, or MrAWolf, likes to keep showing me these images of the cool looking Slain! and the only disappointment so far is not being able to actually play a version of it! This gothic platformer with some serious looking combat, and monsters to fight as you can see in the tweet about, looks nothing short of amazing. The pixel art is to be admired as much as the theme of the game and personally, I can’t wait to start my adventure.
About the game: ‘Slain! – A gothic puzzle-combat platformer with gore galore. Putting a strategic twist on the classic hack and slash games of the ‘80s and ‘90s.’ Players control Bathoryn, a hero in a Gothic world, seeking to liberate seven great towers from 7 deadly overlords.
Bathoryn must battle his way through a doomed land packed with gruesome pixel art foes before ascending (or sometimes descending) each tower, defeating puzzles, traps and monsters alike. At the heart of each tower, he must confront a mighty overlord. Defeat it and Bathoryn’s quest continues. Fail, and you’ll die gruesomely – mauled by werewolves, disintegrated by floating monstrosities, squashed by great weights or torn apart by hidden blades.
And you will fail…
3. Iceteroids in Sci-Fi Indie Game “Everspace”
— EVERSPACE GAME (@everspace_game) February 27, 2016
See, they are like asteroids but made of ice… pun fully intended people. As a Sci-Fi lover this one was jumping out of my phone at me as I looked through ScreenshotSaturday over the weekend. It all looks so beautiful and their goal of bringing in AAA level graphics is certainly looking bang on in these screen. This game is one to watch guys.
About the game: There are fantastic and vast space sims out there featuring super realistic space physics and billions of stars to travel to. But we believe that combining easy-to-pick-up gameplay with AAA-quality graphics and sound with a captivating, non-linear story is something that many of you have still been waiting for.
In EVERSPACE we take a more action-focused approach to the core gameplay of a space shooter and combine it with a modern, rogue-like game loop taking you on a challenging journey through an ever-changing, yet beautifully crafted universe full of surprises.
Each run will be exciting as you will have to face completely new situations. Your skills, experience and talent for improvisation will be tested continously. By this we keep each part of the game long-lasting and generate lots of individual, meaningful moments for you to experience.
2. Epic Boss Battle Scene in Shattered Might
— Livid Interactive (@LividTeam) February 27, 2016
This is a cool looking game, so much I spent ages to bring you all more details on it but alas I could not find any so far (I’ll update if I do!). This 2D action game looks stunning and in the GIF above you will see the startings of a boss battle with a beast I’d like to have a go at taking on myself. It all looks so stylized and well designed I can’t wait to bring you more on this indie title.
1. PICK OF THE WEEK: Stunning Visuals in “Edge of Eternity”
— Edge Of Eternity (@EoeGame) February 27, 2016
I remember seeing this game back on Kickstarter Last Year and my jaw dropping. This ScreenshotSaturday it did it once again with some breathtaking images from the game’s design work so far. As a big, big RPG gamer I simply can’t wait to get my hands on this one, the kickstarter funding was very successful and I really hope they create something even close to it’s potential.
Keep sending these guys… and a demo!
About the game: Edge of Eternity is inspired by the great JRPG tradition for the strategical turn-based combats and the characters progression and by the latest success of western RPG for the vast open worlds to explore and the non-linear stories. In a few words, our game is all about exploring, building up your characters, fighting and living an adventure to remember.
We will also try to make our contribution to the genre by proposing our own vision of key gameplay features like our advanced weapons improvement system or our association of a world map you can explore and very larges open areas.
